Warning Signs

Houston, Texas has seen its fair share of fraud and scams over the years, but one scam that stands out is the Houston real estate scam. This scam, which was created by a group of individuals, was extremely successful and affected a large number of people in the area.

The scam involved the individuals posing as real estate agents and offering to sell properties at a fraction of their market value. They would then ask for a deposit or down payment on the property, but once the money was paid, the "agents" would disappear and the properties were never transferred.
